Bidoun is looking for new interns for the spring semester!
Publishing Intern
Publishing interns will assist in nearly every aspect of the magazine, with primary focus given to the publishing side of the magazine with some editorial work from time to time. Candidates should be organized, interested in publishing and magazine production, and able to commit to at least one day a week.
Advertising Intern
An undergrad with an analytical mindset to help develop strategic approaches to advertising growth. Applicants should have interest in advertising, marketing, sales, sponsorships, and/or business development. Preferable major/concentration in Marketing, Advertising, Media, or Journalism. Applicants should have an enthusiasm for media and publishing, and a can-do attitude to approaching advertising goals. Responsibilities include:
- Share of market reporting
- Advertiser category analysis
- Competitive revenue analysis
- Research category specific industry trends as means for pursuing advertising growth
- Report on business opportunity in the marketplace
- Compile advertiser lists for competitive magazines
- Research prospective advertisers
- Create presentations for prospective advertisers
- Manage contact database and account sheets
- Reader survey analysis
Preferred Skills:
- Excel, and Powerpoint
- An affinity for numbers
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Attention to detail
- The ability to prioritize and multi-task
Creative Intern
Design students with strong technical and typographic skills to assist in design and production of the magazine, ephemera and photo shoots. Candidates should be interested in magazines, publications and their production processes.
Skills include:
- Intimate knowledge of design software (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
- Knowledge of photography and color correcting
- Web skills
